Signcasts
Brein Signcasts is a non-profit news organization dedicated towards civic and participatory journalism by the Deaf and Signing Community. It is 'civic' journalism in the sense that it is dedicated towards using the news to strengthen the social bonds within the community, and foster community engagement, organizing and development. Signcasts is participatory or 'citizen' journalism since we are dedicated towards involving all members of the Signing community in the production of the news.
The Roundup collects news articles reflecting Deaf people and issues from around the world. The aim is to provide a Deaf perspective on news and events.
In this issue: RID Educational Interpreting vote, more deaf schools in danger, the story of a deaf-blind child left abandoned in wintry temperatures, and news about the upcoming Dummy Hoy documentary.
